CubicFarm Systems (TSX:CUB) announced that its subsidiary HydroGreen has entered into a partnership with Johann Dairy, the company said Friday.

In a news release, the Vancouver-based agriculture technology company said that HydroGreen signed a memorandum with Johann Dairy, a large dairy farm based in Fresno, California.

Under the terms of the agreement, HydroGreen will supply 10 tons of HydroGreen “As Fed” Feed daily to Johann Dairy.

CubicFarm Systems said the goal is to show the viability of HydroGreen’s Feed as a Service (FaaS) model and facilitate accelerated product adoption.

“It’s a mutually beneficial solution – producers have a consistent feed ingredient that optimizes digestion within their herd, and it creates a recurring revenue stream for HydroGreen,” John de Jonge, interim CEO of HydroGreen, said in a statement. “This collaboration will enable us to showcase the outstanding capabilities of our Automated Vertical Pastures and the positive impact they can have on animal performance.”

FaaS is an agricultural tool enabling CubicFarm Systems’ HydroGreen to build a regional feed hub facility with Automated Vertical Pastures and then sell the sprouted-grain nutrition to livestock feeding operations.

HydroGreen produces Automated Vertical Pastures in a controlled environment in order to produce high-performance feed ingredients for livestock.

CubicFarm Systems is an agriculture technology company with a proprietary ag-tech solution that enables growers to produce high-quality produce and fresh livestock with HydroGreen.

Shares of CubicFarm Systems are up 12.50 per cent to C$0.045 as of 12:09 p.m. ET.
