Direct Communication Solutions (DCSI) has successfully upgraded the technology of 157 school buses for the Duplin County School District in North Carolina.

Through a partnership with USCellular, the company’s 4G LTE wireless technology to manage school districts will be done on the US Cellular nationwide 4G LTE network.

The upgrade to 4G LTE will enable the school district to leverage the latest technology to monitor the school buses more efficiently.

The terms of the agreement is for three years and officially went into place on July 1, 2022.

“We are thrilled to partner with UScellular and Duplin County School District to take part in their district-wide upgrade to 4G LTE wireless technology and utilize our flagship cloud-based SaaS (Software as a Service) solution to manage their school buses,” said Mike Lawless, EVP of sales at Direct Communication Solutions. “The upgrades allow them to preserve the valuable historical data on their buses and improve the monitoring capabilities for the safety of the students and the drivers.”

USCellular is the fourth-largest full-service wireless carrier in the US and provides national network coverage around the country.

Shares of Direct Communication Solutions are unchanged at C$.70 as of 12:04 p.m. EDT on Monday.
