EV Nickel (EVNI) shared assay results from its recent surface sampling and drilling on the Mathu Zone contained on the Groves Project in Ontario.

The program included seven holes which tested the near-surface potential at Mathu. Drilling successfully intersected nickel-copper-platinum group elements in three of the holes. The highest mineralization was reported in hole GM-16-02, with 1.87 per cent nickel and 0.75 per cent copper over 3.37 metres.

Paul Davis, Vice President of Exploration for EV Nickel, commented,

“Our exploration last summer at Groves was a great success, confirming the mineralization of the Mathu Zone… Mathu is the second high-grade zone in the Groves Project and demonstrates its potential to host continued mineralization.”

As an additional part of the exploration program, EV Nickel completed mechanical stripping and confirmed in situ massive and stringer sulphide mineralization in bedrock.

Also, a new electromagnetic survey was done on select holes from the 2016 drill program, identifying off-hole anomalies below the existing drill holes, indicating the potential for extensions of the nickel-copper-platinum group elements mineralization at depth and along strike.

Mathu was originally discovered by Northern Sun Mining Corporation in 2015 while prospecting on the property. Following the discovery of sulphide boulders, diamond drilling and geophysics were conducted in 2016.

EV Nickel Inc. (EVNI) is down 4.17 per cent, trading at $0.11 per share as of 2:51 p.m. EST.
