Fireweed Zinc (FWZ) has closed the first tranche of a non-brokered private placement for total proceeds of $11,038,511.

The first tranche consists of 5,586,444 common shares priced at $0.70 per share and 7,200,000 flow-through common shares priced at $0.99 per share. 

Proceeds will be used for the exploration and development of the company’s Macmillan Pass Project and for general working capital purposes. 

Closing of the offering is subject to the receipt of all necessary regulatory approvals and acceptance of the TSX Venture Exchange.

All securities issued will be subject to a statutory four-month hold period.
