Gatekeeper Systems (GSI) has received a $5.8 million purchase contract from the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transit Authority (SEPTA).

The contract is for transit bus video upgrades and mobile data collector upgrades and installation is expected to be done before October.

SEPTA is Gatekeeper Systems’ largest customer. Other contracts between the two include a $900,000 contract for transit bus wireless data connectivity and server upgrades; a $6.3 million contract for digital video recorders on trains; an $11.8 million contract for vehicle video system maintenance services; $2 million to use for video system solutions; $1.5 million agreed for video systems solutions for trains.

SEPTA is one of the largest transit systems in the U.S. serving five counties in the Philadelphia area and connecting to transit systems in Delaware and New Jersey. Its services include regional rail, buses, trolleys, subways, and a high-speed line to western suburbs.

Gatekeeper uses AI, video analytics, thermal cameras, and mobile data collectors to inter-connect public transit assets as part of intelligent transportation systems in a smart city ecosystem. The company’s Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) business model is an enabling transformation into a video and data solutions provider.
