Rubicon Organics (ROMJ) has received its first purchase order from the Northwest Territories Liquor and Cannabis Commission (NTLCC).

The company will make its first shipment to the NTLCC in January 2022, supplying its Simply BareTM Organic super-premium flower to retailers across the Northwest Territories.

“As we build on our vision of developing a global premium cannabis brand, each step towards reaching new consumers is very valuable to our organization,” said Rubicon CEO Jesse McConnell.

The company has also appointed Julie Lassonde to its board of directors after receiving Health Canada security clearance.

“We are proud of the balance of skill sets we have on our board of directors,” remarked Mr. McConnell. “Julie Lassonde has significant experience in corporate governance and capital markets, and we are excited to be able to channel her expertise into furthering our mission to be the leading producer of premium organic cannabis brands.”

Ms. Lassonde has more than 25 years of experience as a senior executive and board member in the mining and finance sectors. She also has an extensive philanthropic leadership background.

She currently serves on the board of governors at York University and the Royal Ontario Museum, the board of directors at the National Gallery of Canada Foundation, president of the Canadian Engineering Memorial Foundation, the board of directors of the Pierre Lassonde Family Foundation, and on the engineering advisory council at Brown University.

Ms. Lassonde has been granted 25,000 deferred share units in conjunction with her appointment to the board of directors.
