Red Light Holland (CSE:TRIP) has revealed a partnership with Costco Canada to launch a brand of Mega Block, a 2 kilogra, home-grow mushroom kit, in late May.

In a news release, the company stated the kits will be available across Canada at roughly 100 Costco locations with an initial order total of more than 20,000 units.

The kits, which will come from the company’s wholly owned subsidiary 4316747 Nova Scotia Limited o/a Happy Caps Mushroom Farms, will come in three varieties: Shiitake, Lion’s Mane and Oyster mushroom.

“We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Costco Canada, which further solidifies Happy Caps’ position as a leader in the home grow kit mushroom industry in Canada,” Todd Shapiro, CEO of Red Light Holland, said in a statement. “Retail expansion within North America continues to be the focus for Happy Caps and this partnership with Costco further solidifies the company’s strategy.”

Thanks to the partnership with Costco Canada, Happy Caps has secured pavement in more than 370 retail stores across Canada for its mushroom kits.

Happy Caps is an urban gourmet mushroom farm specializing in quality “grow your own mushroom kits” and mushroom plug spawn.

Red Light Holland is focused on the growth and sale of functional mushrooms and mushroom home-grow kits in North America and Europe. It is also known for its premium brand of psilocybin truffles to the legal, recreational market within the Netherlands.

Shares of Red Light Holland Corp. (CSE:TRIP) are up 9.09 per cent to C$0.60 as of 11:04 am ET.
