NEO (NBM) has been granted a Korean patent for its silicon anodes for high-performance lithium-ion batteries.

The news follows the notice of allowance announcement made on November 18, 2021.

The company will now submit the patent to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the World Intellectual Property Organization.

It has signed or is under the process of signing four new non-disclosure agreements, including an established battery cell manufacturer and a European materials manufacturer with multi-billion sales per year.

It continues to seek partnerships with all sections of the lithium-ion battery supply chain from materials to end-product cells for electric vehicles.

“We are glad to announce that the Korean Intellectual Property Office has issued one of the core patents related to NEO’s low-cost, single-step nanocoating technology for manufacturing silicon anode active materials,” stated Spencer Huh, NEO’s President and CEO.

“As South Korea stands as one of the largest battery manufacturing countries and an epicenter of battery innovation,” he continued, “NEO will continue to strategically establish its presence and development within this market.”

NEO Battery Materials is a Vancouver-based company focused on battery metals and materials.

NEO Battery Materials (NBM) is up by 1.32 per cent and is currently trading at $0.385 per share as of 9:46 am EST.
