Liberty Defense Holdings (TSXV:SCAN), a provider of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies has expanded its international customer base.

In a media statement Wednesday, the Vancouver-based company said that it has shipped commercial units of its HEXWAVE system to Amsterdam as well as to Subic Bay Airport in the Philippines, expanding its international customer base with the support of its distributor network.

HEXWAVE uses millimetre wave technology, advanced 3D imaging, and AI to detect concealed weapons, even metal and non-metal as well as other prohibited items. The system enables rapid, automated screening using a high throughput, contactless, walkthrough portal. HEXWAVE is used in several high-security facilities and properties in sectors ranging from aviation to courthouses, national labs, prisons and government facilities.

“We continue to see growing demand for HEXWAVE from airports and other high-security facilities, not just in North America, but from overseas as well, particularly as the world continues to face geopolitical tensions and threats of terrorism,” Bill Frain, CEO of Liberty Defense said in a news release. “As we expand our footprint globally, we are working closely with distribution partners to ensure we can effectively serve markets throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.”

This follows recent news from Liberty Defense, which was granted a formal equipment authorization approval from the Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada to allow its HEXWAVE security product to be deployed for commercial and government use across Canada.

The company is partnering with experienced and established companies in foreign markets to provide additional sales and service support to international customers. The team said that partners have deployed thousands of security systems for baggage screening while HEXWAVE offers on-person screening.

Liberty Defense Holdings provides multi-technology security solutions for concealed weapon detection in areas such as airports, stadiums, schools and more.
