Liberty Defense Holdings (TSXV:SCAN) announced that its HEXWAVE screening product was purchased by a major international airport in New York.

The Vancouver-based tech company stated that the system will support the airport’s worker security screening program.

HEXWAVE utilizes millimetre-wave technology, advanced 3D imaging, and AI to detect concealed weapons, metallic and non-metallic, as well as prohibited items. This technology enables rapid and automated screening via a high-capacity, hands-free, walk-through portal. Along with aviation, HEXWAVE is currently in use at various high-security locations across sectors such as judicial buildings, national laboratories, correctional facilities and government installations.

In April 2023, the Transportation Security Administration amended its airport security program, mandating that all U.S. airports implement physical screening protocols for personnel accessing secure-side zones.

Liberty Defense has observed an increasing adoption of HEXWAVE in numerous security-sensitive markets, including courthouses, national laboratories, prisons, government facilities and aviation entry points.

“The flexibility of the HEXWAVE allows for quick deployment and movement of the HEXWAVE to areas inside and outside the airport. We look forward to working with the airport on their continued aviation industry innovation,” the company’s CEO, Bill Frain, said in a news release.

The company recently shipped HEXWAVE systems to a major Canadian airport for various screening applications.

Liberty Defense Holdings provides multi-technology security solutions for concealed weapon detection in areas such as airports, stadiums, schools and more.

Shares of Liberty Defense Holdings Ltd. (TSXV:SCAN) last traded at $0.17 and have risen 2.94 per cent in a month.
