Noble Mineral Exploration (TSXV:NOB) recently added the 569-hectare Chateau critical minerals property in Quebec to its growing portfolio.

Historical work from by Azimut Exploration in 2008 identified significant mineralization on a 1 km by 0.5 km airborne radiometric anomaly. Grab samples from the reconnaissance program include:

  • Sample A: 0.12 per cent U (uranium oxide), 2.73 per cent ThO (thorium dioxide), 10.6 per cent REE (rare earth elements), 0.77 per cent Y (yttrium oxide), 14.3 per cent P (phosphorus pentoxide) and 0.10 per cent Pb (lead).
  • Sample B: 0.19 per cent U, 0.3 per cent ThO, 110 grams per ton (g/t) of silver (Ag), 1.90 per cent ZrO (zirconium dioxide) and 0.18 per cent Pb.
  • Sample C: 0.24 per cent U, 0.16 per cent ThO, 0.44 per cent ZrO and 0.15 per cent Pb.
  • Sample D: 0.10 per cent U.

Chateau also exhibits high uranium values in lake sediment samples taken by the Quebec Government, including 124 parts per million uranium approximately 1.3 km east of Azimut’s rock sampling.

Noble Mineral will visit the property in Spring 2025 to expand mineralization and refine the geological model through additional samples. Management interprets Chateau’s suite of elements as indicative of a carbonatite or hyperalkaline source.

Leadership insights

“We are highly encouraged by these historic results, which validate the strategic significance of the Chateau project,” Vance White, Noble Mineral Exploration’s chief executive officer, said in a statement. “The combination of critical minerals and rare metals in such concentrations positions Chateau as a key critical mineral asset in the Noble group of properties. The global shift towards clean energy, advanced technologies and the search for North American sources of critical minerals makes this property a valuable asset and Noble is committed to advancing this project and unlocking its full potential.”
