Nuvei Corporation (NVEI) is expanding its partnership with Alipay to adopt the Alipay+ cross-border payment solution.

With access to Alipay+, Nuvei will be able to connect its merchants to over 1.2 billion customers in the Asia Pacific region. This includes access to a network of Asia’s leading local e-wallets.

Alipay serves businesses in China, Hong Kong, South Korea, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia, connecting e-wallet service providers with more clients.

Philip Fayer, Nuvei’s Chair and CEO, commented on the partnership.

“We aim to consistently provide the most relevant payment options that open up more global commerce possibilities, expand our clients’ potential customer base and drive new revenue streams. Our partnership with Alipay is yet another testament to this goal,” he said.

Currently, Alipay and Nuvei are integrated for both online and in-store purchases. E-wallet users can make online purchases on a hosted payment page or API, or in-store using Nuvei’s point-of-sale application.

The adoption of the Alipay+ solution propels Nuvei to another level of global reach, further expanding its significant portfolio of payment methods.

“Alipay has always believed in global partnerships, supporting service providers to better serve their clients and unlock growth opportunities so that it becomes easier for merchants to do business anywhere,” said Yulei Wang, General Manager of Global Merchant Partnerships at Alipay.

“With Nuvei’s integration into the Alipay+ solution, we look forward to enabling Nuvei to attract more Asian customers to its merchant network.”

Nuvei provides payment technology solutions for merchants and partners.

Nuvei Corp. (NVEI) is down 0.53 per cent, trading at $104.46 per share as of 9:42 am ET.
