Orford Mining (ORM) has drilled a new potential gold-bearing horizon on the Joutel Eagle Property in Quebec.

The company said in a press release the new gold-bearing zone was drilled 150 metres to the north of the South Gold Zone.

Hole 23-JE-007 reported 1.3 g/t gold over 16.1 metres from 201 metres including higher grade intervals of up to 4.5 g/t gold over 1.3 metres in a previously untested area of the property.

Meanwhile, new results from hole 23-JE-016 in the South Gold Zone reported 1.1 g/t gold over 54.7 metres including higher grade intervals of up to 9.1 g/t gold 0.4 metres.

“The 2023 drill campaign on our Joutel Eagle property has proven that the property has tremendous potential value with the discovery of a new zone 150 metres to the north of the South Gold Zone. Drilling on the South Gold Zone continues to prove mineralized continuity along strike which was the main purpose of the program” David Christie, CEO of Orford, said a statement.

The Joutel Eagle Property is located northwest of Agnico Eagle’s past-producing Eagle-Telbel operation, which produced over 1.1 million ounces of gold between 1974 and 1993.

The Joutel Eagle property spans over 11 kilometres of the Casa Berardi structural zone south splay which contains several gold deposits.

Shares of Orford Mining (ORM) are unchanged at C$0.16 on Friday.
