Probe Metals (PRB) has unearthed new gold discoveries and expanded its gold zones at the Val D’Or East project in Quebec.

The company has posted results from 13 drill holes on the property, totalling 4,763 metres of work.  The company was drilling the A, J and L gold zones, and also discovered a new zone, now named the P zone.

Drills in the A zone posted grades of 4.8 grams per tonne over five metres and 8.2 grams per tonne over 3.7 metres.

The J zone posted results of 14 grams per tonne over 3 metres, and 8.1 grams per tonne over 5.1 metres.

The company’s drills in the P zone intercepted grades of 1.4 grams per tonne of gold over 22.5 metres, including seven grams gold over 2.5 metres. The P zone also posted intercepts of 1.1 grams per tonne gold over 35 metres and 2.4 grams per tonne gold over 5.6 metres.

All the zones lie around the formerly producing Monique Gold Mine open pit.

The company found the P zone during the while drilling the north western extension of the Monique pit. The Monique pit lies five kilometres east of Probe Metals main gold resource at the New Beliveau deposit, also in the Val- d’Or project.

President and CEO of Probe Metals, David Palmer said the results show an improvement of the Monique gold system, along with excellent potential for new discoveries on the project.

“The recent drilling has definitely elevated Monique in priority and a second drill s now working to expand on these results.

“In a strong gold price environment like we are currently experience we are fortunate to be advancing multi-million-ounce resources in a mining-friendly and low-cost jurisdiction such as Val-d’Or.

“Our exploration strategy continues to pay off as we realise more growth and improvement in all of the properties within the Val-d’Or East project,” he said.

Probe Metals (PRB) is trading up 0.79 per cent to $1.28 per share at 10:45 am EDT.
