Quarterhill (TSX:QTRH) has formed a new technical advisory committee and added two external advisors to that team.

The technical advisory committee, consisting of experts, will steer Quarterhill’s technology roadmap, shaping its system architecture and positioning it to leverage new opportunities in artificial intelligence and machine learning.

The tolling and transportation technology stock welcomed Bobby Parikh as a special advisor to the CEO and as a member of the new committee. He is an engineering executive and product and business advisor whose experience spans roles at Uber, Google and deCarta.

Vineet Khosla, who was initially set to join the board of directors, will instead join the technical advisory committee in a non-fiduciary role.

“We are pleased that Vineet will continue to lend his valuable technology expertise in this new role,” Chuck Myers, Quarterhill’s chief executive officer, said in a news release Friday. “Vineet has built an extensive track record as an executive in artificial intelligence and machine learning, including transportation-related applications, and we look forward to benefiting from his expertise as he continues to drive advancements in these fields.”

Quarterhill provides tolling and enforcement solutions in the intelligent transportation systems industry, including real-time container tracking and AI-powered demand forecasting.

Quarterhill Inc. stock (TSX:QTRH) has lost 11.28 per cent since the year began, but is up 23.57 per cent since this time last year and opened trading at C$1.73 per share.
