Gold exploration company Quebec Precious Metals (TSXV:CJC) has announced the appointment of Tony Brisson to the role of Senior Exploration Manager.

Mr Brisson’s appointment to his new full-time position will take effect immediately.

Tony brings 25 years of experience in the gold and base metals exploration industry to QPM. He is currently a Director of Opus One Resources Inc, and Radisson Mining Inc.

He has previously filled senior positions in other gold exploration companies in Quebec, making him well-suited to his new role. From 2012 to 2015, Tony was the Exploration Manager at the Éléonore gold mine, where he managed extensive drilling campaigns.

In 2009, Tony received the Prospector of the Year Award from the Quebec Mining Exploration Association. 

He is a member of the Ordre des Géologues du Québec and Professional Geoscientists Ontario. Tony has a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Geology, from the Université du Québec in Chicoutimi.

Quebec Precious Metals CEO Normand Champigny welcomed Mr Brisson’s arrival, commenting on the benefits it will bring to the company.

“We are very pleased to strengthen our technical team with the nomination of Tony Brisson. His deep expertise in gold exploration, including the James Bay Eeyou Istchee territory in Quebec, will contribute significantly to our exploration success,” he said.

In light of his new position, QPM has granted stock options to Mr Brisson, which he can exercise into an aggregate 200,000 company shares. The options will have an exercise price of $0.19 per share within a five year period.

QPM’s share price is up 7.89 per cent, and is currently trading at $0.20 per share, as of 11:26am EST.
