Relay Medical’s (RELA) has announced that its Cybeats cybersecurity platform now supports Android operating systems for IoT devices.

This is in addition to the wide range of Linux systems supported by the integrated solution.

Cybeats allows users to implement continuous real-time monitoring and provides alerts when detecting malicious behaviour.

The lightweight cybersecurity micro agent has been successfully installed on Android devices and deployed in the field for first responders, at airports, and in corporate and special event settings.

Yoav Raiter, CEO of Relay Medical, commented on the recent developments.

“Manufacturers across IoT industries are scrambling to find solutions to protect themselves and meet the increasing regulatory demand,” he remarked.

“We are happy to be one of few solutions available to support developers across advanced operating systems.”

Historically, Linux has been the dominant OS for simple connected devices.

However, said the company in its press release, with the recent adoption of more complex applications, Android has grown to control nearly 73 per cent of the worldwide mobile OS market.

Relay also recently announced an engagement with Canada’s largest medical technology developer, StarFish Medical, to provide the Cybeats platform for connected medical devices.

Relay Medical is a Canadian-based medical technology company.

Relay Medical Corp. (RELA) is up 4.55 per cent, trading at $0.23 per share as of 3:52 pm ET.
