Search Minerals (TSXV:SMY) has begun its 2020 exploration program on the company’s properties in south eastern Labrador.

As the winter warms up n, the 2020 exploration program has begun for many companies needing to access far-flung northern assets. Search Minerals has stated that all its scheduled work on its sites must be completed by the fall of this year, before the weather cools once again.

The program will involve work across four of Search Minerals properties, Fox Meadow, Awesome Fox, Silver Fox and Deep Fox. The programs will all involve trenching and channelling work.

The Fox Meadow program will involve some trenching and channel sampling, extending 5 sections of trench through the mineral zone already begun in previous years.

Awesome Fox’s work will involve trenching and tunnelling into a magnetic anomaly that was defined via UAV, during previous exploration work.

Silver Fox contains very high levels of hafnium and zirconium, and the company is aiming to infill some of the mineral zones it previously explored on the site.

The infill channels will be dug towards the Foxtrot deposit, another deposit on the Silver Fox site.

The final site is Deep Fox, where the company will begin a phase three drilling program in the fall of this year. The  work will consist of up to 3000 metres of drilling across seven to 10 holes, extending the current resource to the 200-metre depth level.

Greg Andrews, the President and CEO of Search Minerals, is very happy to be resuming work at the site.

“We have worked with local and Newfoundland government partners to prepare our COVID-19 protocols to ensure the safety of our employees and the communities where Search Minerals works.

“We appreciate the support and look forward to a safe and successful exploration program,” he said.

Search Minerals (SMY) is in the grey and is trading at C$0.04 per share at 3:30 pm EDT.
