Design and consultancy firm, Stantec Inc (TSX:STN), has secured a C$40 million, five-year contract with the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).

The indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) deal pertains to the Baltimore District area of responsibility, within which Stantec will provide architecture, engineering and related services to the USACE.

The contract also includes deliverability throughout the wider North Atlantic Division, which stretches from Virginia to Maine on the US east coast.

However, it’s not the first time the company has undertaken USACE business in the area.

Stantec is currently providing project management, architecture, interior design, structural engineering, landscape architecture and land surveying for the new Special Operations Forces facility in Alexandria, Virginia.

Project types and locations under the new contract will be determined at a later date through individual work orders.

Will Bynum, Stantec USACE account manager, is looking forward to building on its long-standing relationship with the USACE.

“Since the 1970s, we’ve supported the Army Corps of Engineers with architecture and engineering services on military and civil works projects throughout the continental U.S, Middle East, and Europe.

“We look forward to continuing to build on our record of success in delivering high-quality projects that truly belong to the communities they serve and span the full range of multi-discipline architectural and engineering services,” he said.

To date, Stantec currently holds contracts for military programs, environmental and civil works services with 18 USACE Districts. These regions extend across the US and the world, from New Orleans and Sacramento, to Alaska and Europe.

At yesterday’s market close, Stantec Inc (STN) was trading at $39.97 per share with a market cap of $4.47 billion.
