On Thursday, equities in Toronto saw some minor gains with traders taking a pause, given the string of record highs achieved earlier this week. Gains gathered among energy shares were offset by a drop in utilities stocks.

Markets on Wall Street were closed for the Thanksgiving holiday and will reopen for a half-day of trading on Friday.
