Markets pulled back broadly today as bond market pressure weighed on stocks heading into the new quarter. The TSX fell 0.63% and the TSX Venture Index dropped 0.61%, while the Dow slipped 0.13% and the Nasdaq was roughly flat, down 0.02%, despite wrapping up Q3 with a gain. The FTSE 100 was the weak spot, falling 1.15%.

Oil rose 1.26% as the U.S. reportedly pressed France and Germany to release diesel stocks or face an export ban, adding to energy market tension. Gold edged up 0.14% and copper fell 1.12%, while Bitcoin gained 0.39% to above C$119,000. Elsewhere, CPP Investments agreed to sell its Australian toll road assets for $4.5 billion.
