Victory Battery Metals (VR) has initiated phase-two drilling at its Smokey Lithium Property in Nevada.
The three-hole drill program will target strong lithium mineralization previously intersected in 2022, with the aim of extending this mineralization and identifying maiden resource potential.
The drill targets include a combination of step-out drilling on previous mineralized intersections and grassroots targets of claystone sediments within the Weepah Detachment Fault and underlying claystones of the Esmeralda Formation.
The project area and surrounding lands show strong lithium mineralization at the surface. Drill holes in this phase will test the total mineralized depth of hole 09, a standout from 2022 exploration.
The company sees the potential to drill through mineralized Weepah sediments and down into mineralized Esmeralda Formation sediments, with the goal of significantly expanding the known lithium mineralization on the property.
Additionally, the company will drill through locally mineralized sediments above the Weepah Detachment Fault to grow its understanding of a significant area of known lithium mineralization.
The drill program is anticipated to be completed within a 2-to-3-week period, pending weather.
