Vior (TSXV:VIO) has made a massive phosphate discovery at its Foothills project in Quebec.

In a news release, the Montreal-based company revealed it made the discovery during its summer 2023 exploration program at the project. Field sampling confirmed an extensive mineralized igneous anorthosite-related phosphate system.

Notably, the company said it identified two corridors of nine and 7.5 kilometres respectively for a total of 16.5 kilometres along the Saint-Urbain anorthosite contact and remain open along strike.

Additionally, Vior said the project is known for its high-grade mineral content in a rutile-bearing massive ilmenite oxide.

“Given the outstanding initial exploration results and Foothills’ significant mineralized surface footprint, along with its favourable location, this project could rapidly become an important component of Vior’s overall value creation strategy,” Mark Fedosiewich, CEO of VIor, said in a statement.

The Foothills Project is composed of 532 claims and encompasses an area of 287 square kilometres.

Vior Inc. is a junior mining exploration corporation based in Quebec with a corporate strategy to generate, explore and develop high-quality projects in proven and favourable mining jurisdictions in North America.

Shares of Vior are up 7.69 per cent to C$0.14 as of 10:34 a.m. ET.
