ZEN Graphene Solutions (ZEN) has signed another agreement with personal protective equipment (PPE) manufacturer Trebor.

Under the agreement, ZEN Graphene plans to apply its graphene-based virucidal coating to nitrile gloves which are sourced or produced by Trebor. The treated gloves could be used by front-line responders and other healthcare workers responding to the COVID-19 crisis, as well as in food processing and agriculture.

Trebor will pay royalties to ZEN for each glove that is coated with the ink, starting with a minimum first-year guarantee of 100 million gloves. In return, ZEN Graphene will provide Trebor with a distribution agreement covering Canada, the United States, and Mexico.

ZEN Graphene’s CEO, Greg Fenton, commented on the company’s latest deal with Trebor, which follows on from its mask-coating agreement in November 2020.

“We are very excited to build upon our initial partnership agreement with TreborRx, by extending benefits of our coating to the nitrile glove market,” he said.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for both our companies and demonstrates the strength of our relationship and mutual pursuit of creating value and protecting our front-line workers,” he added.

Greg went on to say how pleased he is that both companies are progressing towards obtaining Health Canada approval and bringing PPE treated with the biocidal coating to market.

ZEN Graphene is currently conducting testing in order to include its coating on Trebor’s masks and mask filters, with Health Canada approval. According to Trebor’s CEO, George Irwin, the PPE manufacturer plans to supply the biocidal gloves to the market within the first half of 2021.

ZEN Graphene Solutions is up 1.11 per cent and trading for $3.63 per share, as of 10:45am EST.
