ZoomerMedia (ZUM) has acquired Freshdaily, owner and publisher of blogTO.

Founded in 2004, blogTO is a leading digital source for Toronto news and culture with a demonstrated history of audience and revenue growth.

The acquisition provides ZoomerMedia with a local audience backed by nearly 3 million social media followers, most of them part of the Gen Z and Millennial demographic.

The combination will also accelerate daily digital content development and allow for revenue and cost synergies from audience integration, cross-selling and multi-platform offerings.

“Thus far we have been edging our analog radio, TV and magazine products and audiences into the digital domain,” stated Moses Znaimer, ZoomerMedia’s Founder and CEO. “In aggregate, our digital properties today deliver over 50 million page views a year. This acquisition will add 350 million+ such views (and growing rapidly) and is also intended to kickstart a suite of new, mobile-friendly, digital offerings that we will soon announce.”

“I particularly look forward to working with Moses and am confident his unparalleled industry experience and creative vision will help us grow and evolve in innovative and unexpected ways,” added Tim Shore, Founder of blogTO.

ZoomerMedia is a diversified multimedia company creating content for “Zoomers”, or the 17.2 million Canadians aged 45 and older.

ZoomerMedia (ZUM) is unchanged trading at $0.115 per share as of 9:33 am EST.
