Nabati Foods (MEAL) has expanded its international distribution through a partnership with IMCD Japan.

IMCD Japan is a leading specialty chemicals and food ingredients distributor.

The partnership will focus on distribution via food service, industrial and grocery channels. The deal includes distribution of:

  • Nabati Plant Eggz
  • Nabati Cheeze, both cheddar style and mozzarella style
  • Nabati plant-based meats, including Nabati Chick’n Burger, Nabati F’sh Burger, Nabati Plant-Based Burger and Nabati Plant-Based Groundz
  • Nabati dairy-free cheesecakes, including blueberry, peanut butter, chocolate and tiramisu

Nabati Foods is sold under the brand name ITABAN in Japan.

A Vegconomist report (August 2020) estimated Japan’s vegetarian and flexitarian population to be 27 million, which is more than 22 per cent of the entire country.

Ahmad Yehya, CEO of Nabati Foods, stated,

“Expanding our reach in Japan is a very exciting milestone for Nabati Foods. Japan is a very advanced and health-conscious country, and the demand for plant-based products is strong.
