Naturally Splendid (NSP) has renewed its Plantein agreement with Denny’s Restaurants.

Denny’s will continue to offer Plantein plant-based Nuggets and Crumbed Tenders at all Canadian restaurants under a national program.

The products will be available under the Plantein brand following a rebranding with new restaurant menus and on-premises advertising.

The companies are in discussions to add additional products to the menu.

The news follows the integration of Natera’s plant-based chicken alternative into Denny’s menus across Canada in October 2021.

Plant-based meat consumption continues to grow at exponential levels, outpacing the growth of conventional meat by almost three times in the past three years, according to management’s analysis.

“Through the course of the pandemic, sales of conventional meat and poultry have been impacted by supply chain disruptions and escalating prices, pushing consumers and operators to seek alternative proteins,” stated J. Craig Goodwin, Naturally Splendid’s CEO.

“Foodservice providers are meeting consumers’ demand for plant-based foods by partnering with brands like Plantein to provide a wide assortment of selections, making it easier than ever to choose plant-based foods as part of their diet,” he added.

Naturally Splendid Enterprises offers healthy, functional foods under recognized brands such as Natera Sport, Natera Hemp Foods, Plantein, CHII, Elevate Me and Woods Wild Bar.

Naturally Splendid (NSP) is unchanged, trading at $0.115 per share as of 9:49 am EST.
