Novo Resources (NVO) has begun drilling at the high-grade gold Catia prospect at its Bellary Dome Project in Australia.

The company said drilling will include a 3,000 metre reverse circulation program.

Step-out drilling will test the strike potential of the Catia trend for 700 metres along strike to the east of the main target.

Mike Spreadborough, acting CEO of Novo Resources, said the program will take roughly four weeks, and is the first of several drilling programs the company has planned for the current exploration season.

“The Bellary Dome Project is one of Novo’s priority areas across its significant 10,500 sq km landholding in the Pilbara. We are excited to get on the ground and start testing these highly prospective targets, that were identified during our previous fieldwork program,” he said.

The project is one of the company’s priority areas across its landholding that spans over 10,500 square kilometres in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

Novo Resources entered into an agreement with Bellary Dome Pty Ltd in 2020 to acquire the gold-only rights on E47/3555. Bellary Dome still holds the rights to all other minerals on the property.

Rock chip sampling done in 2021 returned high-grade gold results of 556 ppm gold and 117 ppm gold.

Novo Resources is focused on exploring and developing its prospective land package in Western Australia. The company is also focused on the 22 square kilometre Belltopper project in the Bendigo Tectonic Zone of Victoria, Australia.

Shares of Novo Resources (NVO) are unchanged at C$0.35 on Wednesday morning.
