Tower Resources (TWR) reports first assay results from its Rabbit North Property in British Columbia.

The results come from its new Thunder Zone, where hole 39 returned 2.04 g/t gold over 25.7 metres.

In a press release, the company said the hole intersected two gold zones, a 3.0 metre upper zone from 142.7 metre down-hole grading 4.02 g/t gold.

The targeted Thunder zone started at 17.8 metres further downhole, at 163.5 metres grading 2.04 g/t gold over 25.7 metres.

Tower Resources said the 2.04 g/t grade at the Thunder Zone is much higher than the 1.5 g/t average grade of the Lightning Zone.

“The Thunder Zone is building as expected, with the indicated gold grade double that of most open pit gold mines in B.C. And its relatively undisturbed condition and previously indicated continuity both along strike and to depth make the Thunder Zone more predictable and drill-friendly than the Lightning Zone. Together these features should allow us to build a significant gold resource more quickly,” Stu Averill, a director of the company, said in a release.

The company also drilled hole 40, which is 50 metres northeast of hole 39. Hole 40 intersected a 7.65 metre mineralized zone containing 1.42 g/t gold.

Assays are currently pending for hole 41.

Shares of Tower Resources (TWR) are down 11.34 per cent to C$0.43 as of 10:54 a.m. EDT.
