Bombardier (TSX:BBD.A) is showing off a Challenger 3500 aircraft mockup to clients this summer at the Costa Smeralda Airport in Olbia, Italy.

The aviation company wants to give a firsthand opportunity to experience the “super midsize jet” up close. After stops in Paris and Nice, the journey of the full-size aircraft mockup provides a setting for clients to get their hands on the jet’s distinct features.

In a news release, Bombardier touted the Challenger 3500’s features, such as:

  • The widest cabin in its class
  • The industry’s first integrated voice-controlled technology in its segment
  • 4K monitors
  • Seats that can mimic human body movements

The aircraft also has the lowest cabin altitude in its class, standing at 1,478 metres, which can reduce passenger fatigue. Capable of flying 6,297 kilometres, the jet also has the lowest direct operating costs in its class.

The Challenger aircraft family provides a solution for urgent humanitarian assistance, maritime patrol, electronic warfare, search and rescue and other tasks.

Bombardier designs, builds, modifies and maintains a leading portfolio of aircraft for business and defence. The company’s customers operate a fleet of about 5,000 aircraft across the world supported by 10 service facilities across six countries.

Bombardier stock (TSX:BBD.A) opened trading at C$85.48 per share. The stock has risen 59.99 per cent year-to-date.
