Michael Gentile, one of Canada’s most recognizable mining investors, filed an early warning report about a new investment in Aeonian Resources (TSXV:ALTN), a junior copper miner in British Columbia.
Gentile will pick up 11,950,000 units priced at C$0.04 – as part of a recently closed non-brokered private placement – for total consideration of C$478,000, affording him a 19.55 per cent stake in the company on an undiluted basis and a 32.71 per cent stake on a partially diluted basis.
As per Tuesday’s news release, a clause under the transaction prevents Gentile from exercising his warrants, should it result in him owning 19.99 per cent or greater of Aeonian’s total issued and outstanding common shares.
The investment grants Gentile – who is known for identifying high-quality exploration projects, owning top-five positions in more than 20 public mining companies – robust exposure to Aeonian’s flagship Koocanusa copper project within the Purcell Basin, which is located on a geological belt that hosts major copper deposits in Montana, USA.
The project features a 50-kilometre copper corridor with numerous drill-ready targets informed by geochemical and geophysical data, and is backed by multi-year permits and Indigenous partnerships, positioning Aeonian to harvest potentially significant exploration upside.
