Super Copper (CSE:CUPR), a junior mining company in Chile, identified multiple kilometre-scale anomalies at its Castilla project in the country’s Atacama region, following new 3D modelling of magnetic survey data.
This article is a journalistic opinion piece which has been written based on independent research. It is intended to inform investors and should not be taken as a recommendation or financial advice.
The anomalies are interpreted to begin at surface, extend at depths up to 2,500 metres and be associated with high-grade quartz vein samples up to 53.8 grams per ton (g/t) gold and 17.7 per cent copper, in addition to numerous other known iron and iron-copper sulphide veins, adding conviction to leadership’s view that Castilla may host an iron oxide copper-gold system — the deposit style behind many of Chile’s largest copper-gold mines.
Super Copper will now turn its attention to an induced polarization survey, keen to identify high chargeability associated with sulphide minerals related to copper and gold, define targets for an upcoming drilling program and demonstrate further upside to the market.
Leadership commentary
“This is our first real look deep beneath the surface at Castilla, and it shows exactly what our model predicts: large, untested bodies at depth sitting directly below the best copper and gold samples we have collected at surface,” Zachary Dolesky, Chief Executive Officer of Super Copper, said in Thursday’s news release. “Our follow-up program is designed to turn these results into ranked drill targets quickly and cost-effectively.”
