Micron Technology and AMD: The Rally of the Century
Do you know a stock with a 380% share price gain over the past 12 months and a remaining 2027 P/E ratio of 5.2? You guessed right: Micron Technology. As one of the world’s leading memory solution manufacturers, the company is benefiting from the ongoing artificial intelligence boom. The massive data flows of modern language models require not only fast processors but, above all, extremely powerful memory, which Micron supplies with its high-bandwidth memory chips. This key technological position has made the company an indispensable partner to the world’s biggest tech giants. Despite the current market consolidation on the NASDAQ, demand for these highly specialised components remains at an all-time high. The market correction is creating new entry points for investors looking to get involved again, as Micron’s management is sounding more bullish than ever. The latest investments in new production capacity secure the chip specialist’s long-term market leadership in a highly consolidated environment. This is because its unique technology gives it a substantial time lead over the competition. Anyone investing in the physical infrastructure of the AI future can hardly overlook the memory specialist from Idaho for their portfolio. 46 out of 52 analysts on the LSEG platform give it the thumbs up and calculate an average 12-month price target of USD 1,539. Yesterday, the stock was one of the day’s losers at USD 868.
Meanwhile, with chipmaker AMD, Micron is in a spectacular neck-and-neck battle at the forefront of technology, challenging dominance in the field of AI accelerators. With its powerful “Instinct” solutions, the company has shown it can offer fully competitive alternatives for data centres. These hardware innovations let cloud providers train massive AI models more efficiently and at lower cost. Alongside the data centre segment, AMD is also pushing hard to integrate AI directly into end devices such as PCs and notebooks. The current share price pullback of no less than USD 120 from the high of USD 658 offers long-term investors an initial strategic entry opportunity. However, despite earnings doubling in 2027, analysts still calculate the P/E ratio at 35. There could still be some room to the downside, so put the stock on your watchlist. Extremely exciting!
Infineon: German Engineering in Demand Worldwide
But high tech is also available in Germany. As a global market leader in power semiconductors, the long-established Munich-based company Infineon plays a pivotal role in the worldwide expansion of AI infrastructure. Not in highly advanced processors, but in controlling energy flows at the source. Modern AI data centres consume exponentially more electricity than conventional server farms, making maximising energy efficiency one of the greatest technological challenges of our time. This is where the group’s innovative power supply systems come in, developed in close cooperation with industry heavyweights such as Nvidia to drastically minimise energy losses. Thanks to recent innovations such as extremely powerful 27-kilowatt power supplies, the Bavarians are driving server-rack efficiency to record levels above 98%. This technological lead is reflected in full order books and is bringing robust growth to the power and sensor systems division. According to analysts, revenue is expected to rise from EUR 14.6 billion in 2025/26 to EUR 16.3 billion in the current year and further to EUR 19.8 billion in 2027/28. The Munich-based company has never seen growth rates like these, which is why the stock is now attracting considerable attention in the DAX 40 index. With global electricity shortages looming, it is becoming clear that sustainable artificial intelligence is hard to achieve without sophisticated German hardware. Investors looking for a more defensive, yet fundamentally indispensable, beneficiary of the AI megatrend will find a first-class investment alternative in this success story.
Standard Uranium: New Drilling Data Sharpen Discovery Expectations
Without an adequate electricity supply, the enormous growth in the AI and high-tech sectors becomes a risky adventure. Many countries have therefore reconsidered their nuclear energy strategy, led by the US administration. Yet the global renaissance of nuclear energy is running into a uranium market where supply is increasingly a strategic bottleneck. Geopolitical tensions and supply chain uncertainties are testing the accelerated drive for uranium exploration, as production is concentrated in just a few countries and new mining projects require long lead times. For exploration companies in Canada’s Athabasca Basin, this situation opens up attractive prospects, provided the geological indications yield solid discoveries.
To this end, the Canadian company Standard Uranium has built up an extensive portfolio of more than 110,000 hectares and is focusing on systematic exploration in one of the world’s most renowned uranium districts. With the completion of its largest drilling programme to date, Standard Uranium has reached an important operational milestone. Between June and September 2026, the company drilled 6,734 m across twelve diamond drill holes along the Warrior, Bronco and Thunderbird structural corridors at the flagship Davidson River project. Although the final scope fell short of the more than 8,000 m originally targeted, the results provide important insights for the next exploration phase. Several intervals with elevated radioactivity of more than 300 counts per second were recorded in three drill holes, including a peak reading of 1,650 cps.
The geological development appears even more significant: graphitic faults and shear zones have extended the known width of the Thunderbird and Bronco corridors to more than 300 m, substantially enlarging the potential target zone. Hydrothermal alteration featuring sericite, dravitic clay minerals, haematite and quartz-carbonate veins is consistent with the geological conditions under which significant uranium deposits can form in the Athabasca Basin. The modelled geometry of the structures also shows parallels with the neighbouring Patterson Lake corridor, which is known for its uranium deposits. Geochemical laboratory analyses from the 2026 drilling campaign are still pending and will determine whether the radioactive intervals are significant uranium enrichments. This is why the next news cycle could be decisive: if the analyses confirm the geological indications to date, the drilling targets could be narrowed more precisely, and the prospects for further campaigns could be assessed more effectively.
IIF presenter Lyndsay Malchuk speaks with CEO Jon Bey about the progress of the drilling programme in the Athabasca Basin.
Corvo’s first drilling campaign in more than four decades returned uranium anomalies in all nine completed drill holes. A total of 55 m with elevated uranium values were recorded, including 23 m with more than 50 ppm and 13 m with over 100 ppm uranium. A surface programme funded by Aventis Energy has therefore been underway since early October, with geologists mapping mineralised outcrops, taking samples and examining additional target areas along the known structures. The results will be combined with drilling data and geophysical surveys to prepare a further drilling programme for 2027.
The next catalyst for the share price must now come from the laboratory. The combination of a large land package, modern geophysical methods and partner-funded programmes provides a solid starting point for further work. With a market capitalisation of just CAD 10 million, the stock therefore remains highly intriguing for investors. If the laboratory results prove convincing, market attention could surge.

The 12-month performance shows a pronounced sideways trend between CAD 0.06 and CAD 0.14. The technical indicators have now entered a stabilisation phase.
Conclusion
The stock market has shown pronounced volatility for several weeks. Now the high-tech sector has begun its correction. Given the substantial gains in recent months, stronger profit-taking is to be expected. This applies in particular to chip and AI stocks, which have performed very well. Consolidation in uranium and related exploration stocks has been underway for longer, which should once again provide good entry levels in the broader picture.
