With gold prices reaching record levels in January 2026, Nevada’s mining districts are once again commanding global attention.

Among them, the Walker Lane Gold Trend continues to stand out as one of North America’s most prospective yet still underexplored mineral belts.

Recent geophysical and geological results reported by Sky Gold Corp. (TSXV:SKYG) from its flagship Evening Star property add further weight to this narrative, outlining a large, coherent mineral system with multiple target styles that could position the project for meaningful discovery.

A prolific setting: The Evening Star property

Sky Gold’s Evening Star property is situated within the Walker Lane Gold Trend in Nevada, a region known for its long history of precious and base metal production and for hosting several significant intrusive‑related and epithermal gold systems. The property hosts multiple exploration targets, including High Life, Tower Gold, Golden Bomber, and Gold Bug, which together define a large, multi‑kilometre mineralized footprint. Just 50 km northwest from Evening Star are the Yerington and Anaconda copper mines. Recent work by the company has focused on integrating geological mapping, historical drilling, geochemical evidence, and new geophysical datasets to build a more refined exploration model for the project.

High Life target: Strong indicators of a porphyry Cu‑Au system

At the centre of the Evening Star project lies the High Life target, where newly completed magnetic and Induced Polarization (IP) surveys have produced results consistent with a copper‑gold porphyry system.

The magnetic survey outlines a large, single positive anomaly approximately one kilometre in diameter, a feature that stands out strongly against the surrounding background. Three‑dimensional processing indicates that this anomaly is deeply rooted and robust, which Sky Gold interprets as the potassic core of a porphyry system—typically the central zone where copper and gold mineralization is most commonly developed.

Three IP lines completed across High Life further refine this interpretation. The IP data demonstrate coincident resistivity and chargeability highs; a geophysical signature often associated with sulphide‑bearing intrusive systems. Additionally, the data show distinct zonation, with an outer conductive shell surrounding a more resistive inner core, a pattern frequently observed in intact, concentrically zoned porphyry systems.

Geophysical interpretations of the Cu-Au porphyry target show the fertile potassic core is only just below the surface

An important enhancement to the High Life target comes from historical gravity survey data collected across the High Life and Gold Bug areas in 2020. At High Life, the magnetic anomaly coincides directly with a gravity high, alongside resistivity and chargeability highs. This rare combination of overlapping geophysical responses significantly strengthens the interpretation of a large, preserved porphyry system rather than a fragmented or eroded intrusion.

Gold Bug: CRD and skarn potential supported by historical drilling

In addition to porphyry mineralization, the Evening Star property shows evidence for carbonate replacement deposit (CRD) and skarn‑style mineralization, particularly in the Gold Bug area.

A historic drill hole completed in 1970 south of Gold Bug intersected CRD‑style mineralization in carbonate rocks, including galena and sphalerite. The intercept returned 0.22 per cent copper, 3.24 per cent lead, 1.41 per cent zinc, and 76 g/t silver over 150.2 metres, with higher‑grade intervals such as 0.60 per cent copper, 14.88 per cent lead, 4.70 per cent zinc, and 408 g/t silver over 6.10 metres. Notably, gold was not assayed in this historic hole, leaving open the possibility of unrecognized precious‑metal enrichment.

“Taken as a whole, the geophysical and geological surveys provide compelling evidence that suggest we may be sitting on a substantial copper-gold porphyry system,” Sky Gold Corp. CEO, Mike England stated in a news release.

Recent magnetic survey data over Gold Bug and Evening Star reveal discrete magnetic anomalies that may represent skarn zones associated with the broader intrusive system. Sky Gold has indicated that the area surrounding historic hole 70‑1 is a priority for follow‑up drilling to confirm CRD and skarn mineralization styles and to test for gold content. The company also added that a program is underway for additional structural mapping and preparing the targets for our upcoming drill program of 2,000m of diamond core drilling, of which 3 holes will test High Life Cu-Au porphyry system, 2 holes will test Tower Gold High Sulphidation vein system and 2 holes to test the CRD mineralization obtained in historic hole 70-1.

Peripheral targets: Evidence of a larger mineral system

Surrounding the High Life centre are several copper‑gold vein targets—Tower Gold, Golden Bomber, and Gold Bug—which Sky Gold interprets as shallower or more peripheral expressions of the same mineral system.

At Tower Gold, four short drill holes totalling 381 metres were interpreted as having drilled into a lithocap – the actual vein system is now interpreted as being beneath the lithocap and structurally controlled. These holes are now interpreted to have tested the upper, oxidized portions of the system rather than the main mineralized zone, suggesting that deeper drilling may be warranted.

At Golden Bomber, surface sampling has returned strong copper values and high‑grade gold assays up to 25.9 g/t Au and 1.01 per cent Cu. Additional trenching has exposed multiple subparallel chalcedonic quartz veins, consistent with a well‑developed epithermal vein system. Assay results from this more recent trenching are pending.

Past drilling and geophysics: Advancing toward targeted tests

Phase one of the geophysical program—a drone‑supported high‑resolution magnetic and topographic survey flown on 50‑metre line spacing—has been completed, with data now being processed. The survey is intended to refine structural interpretations and lithological controls to support more precise drill targeting.

In an exclusive interview with the Market Online’s “The Watchlist”, CEO England called this region “elephant country”, with a lot of comparable and successful operators in the area.

“You have Comstock, which has produced 8 million oz. of gold, Kinross’ Round Mountain has about 15 million oz. there, Tonopah, Gold Frog mines, a recent success is Equinox’s Castle Mountain Project, that one’s got about 4.1 million oz.,” he said. “Trump is fast-tracking a lot of mine permits in the U.S., and the Castle Mountain Project is one of those.”

Why this matters for investors

The integration of geological observations, historical data, and multiple geophysical datasets at Evening Star outlines a coherent, concentrically zoned mineral system centred on a strong magnetic high. The coincidence of magnetic, IP, and gravity responses at High Life provides a solid technical foundation for the porphyry exploration model and reduces geological uncertainty heading into deeper drill testing.

Looking ahead

As gold prices remain elevated and investor interest in tier‑one jurisdictions grows, Sky Gold’s Evening Star project presents a technically supported exploration story in one of Nevada’s most prospective belts. With high‑priority porphyry and CRD targets defined, and multiple mineralization styles recognized across the property, the coming exploration phases could prove significant.

For investors following Nevada‑focused exploration stories in a strong gold market, Sky Gold Corp. warrants closer attention and deeper independent due diligence as results continue to emerge from the Evening Star property.
