- AgraFlora Organics (CSE:AGRA) has received a Standard Cultivation License from Health Canada for the company’s Delta Facility in British Columbia
- The site, operating under the name Propagation Services Canada, can now begin planting its portfolio of high-potency, low-cost cannabis plants
- An initial phase of cultivation will span roughly 425,000 square feet, but the site can be scaled up to 2.2 million square feet
- The site’s debut harvest is expected to occur in the fourth quarter of this year
- AgraFlora Organics (AGRA) is currently up 33.33 per cent, with shares trading at 8 cents and a market cap of C$68.09 million
AgraFlora Organics’ (CSE:AGRA) Delta Facility has received its Standard Cultivation License from Health Canada.
With the license secured, AgraFlora Organics can begin cultivating its portfolio of live plant genetics, which has been specifically curated by an award-winning Canadian cultivator.
The portfolio combines high-potency flower with above-average yields, as well as favourable agricultural traits such as disease and pest resistance.
Operating under the name Propagation Services Canada, the British Columbia-based site is powered by natural gas and features advanced climate and humidity control management infrastructure.
Executive Chairman and CEO of AgraFlora Organics, Brandon Boddy said the receipt of the Standard Cultivation License is a major achievement for the company.
“Obtaining the license at the Delta Facility marks the end of a journey commenced in the fourth quarter of 2018 and is the key milestone in beginning cannabis sales from what is the second largest and one of the most advanced greenhouses in Canada.
“With license in hand, we’re commencing the cultivation of a curated portfolio of elite live plant genetics that will enable us to execute on a focused strategy of high-potency, low-cost cannabis to drive high-volume value brands from coast to coast,” he added.
The Delta Facility’s first phase will cover approximately 423,000 squarer feet of cultivation space, using a pressurised, semi-open greenhouse design.
Located in an agricultural micro-climate on the shores of the Pacific, the Delta Facility is scalable up to a total of 2.2 million square feet.
In collaboration with AgraFlora’s consultants, the site’s team has forecast a harvest of the first cannabis grow to occur sometime in the fourth quarter of this year.
AgraFlora Organics (AGRA) is currently up 33.33 per cent, with shares trading for 8 cents at 11:50am EDT.
