Air Canada (TSX:AC) and Türkiye-based Pegasus Airlines announced a new interline partnership today that will significantly expand travel options for passengers heading to some of Türkiye’s most sought‑after destinations.

In a media statement, Canada’s airline said the agreement enables Air Canada customers to book travel on nine Pegasus‑operated routes, with seamless connections through major European gateways. Travellers flying with Air Canada to Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Copenhagen, Munich, Geneva, Vienna, Zurich, and Athens will now have streamlined onward access to Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport. In addition, flights from Frankfurt will offer convenient links to Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport on Türkiye’s Aegean coast.

Air Canada says the partnership strengthens its connectivity to a dynamic and fast‑growing market, offering travellers greater choice, flexibility, and ease of travel.

Under the interline arrangement, customers will benefit from a single itinerary and through‑checked baggage, simplifying transfers between the two carriers. The agreement is expected to appeal to both leisure travellers eager to explore Türkiye’s cultural and coastal destinations, and business travellers seeking access to one of the region’s most important commercial hubs.

The two airlines also confirmed they are exploring the possibility of expanding the interline deal into a full codeshare agreement in the future. A codeshare would introduce reciprocal loyalty program benefits and deeper integration across both carriers’ international networks.

Air Canada’s latest partnership follows a broader industry trend of global airlines strengthening ties with regional carriers to offer more comprehensive travel options without adding their own aircraft or routes. For Pegasus, one of Türkiye’s largest low‑cost carriers, the collaboration provides wider international visibility and access to long‑haul markets served by Air Canada.

Both airlines say they expect demand to grow as travellers continue seeking convenient, multi‑stop itineraries that combine North America with Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean.

Air Canada is Canada’s largest airline with a presence in more than 180 airports in Canada, the United States and internationally across six continents.

Air Canada stock (TSX:AC) opened trading more than a per cent lower at C$21.16 and has ascended more than 20 per cent since this time last year.
