Mobile game creator ePlay Digital (CSE:EPY) has announced its partnership with TetaVi, an Israeli volumetric video capture company.

TetaVi’s AI-based technology creates and publishes three-dimensional, highly immersive hologram experiences for consumers. Through this collaboration, ePlay is integrating TetaVi’s hologram hardware and software into its mobile gaming platform.

ePlay’s mobile platform specialises in sports, esports and entertainment augmented reality titles.

The companies have already begun building holograms into multiple mobile game titles, which they will release soon. They are also working together on projects in online retail, fashion, fitness, sports and entertainment.

TetaVi’s Chief Executive Officer, Gilad Talmon, commented on the opportunities posed by the partnership. He also noted the timeliness of such ventures during the COVID-19 crisis, which has forced people to stay inside.

“Introducing TetaVi’s AI-based holograms into ePlay games offers a new high-fidelity realistic immersive experience for gamers. Our notable projects with ePlay are underway and bringing remote entertainment to fans worldwide, especially during these days of isolation,” he said.

ePlay Digital’s Chief Executive Officer, Trevor Doerksen, also welcomed the collaboration, which is well underway.

“ePlay is building holograms into multiple mobile game titles to be released shortly, including our first flagship game, Big Shot and others we are developing with Howie Mandel.

“TetaVi’s technology is quick and easy to set-up for new ePlay mobile games to offer unique in-game 3D and augmented reality experiences with celebrities and in-game characters,” he said.

Augmented Reality (AR) is a rapidly growing industry at the forefront of entertainment technology. Forbes predicts it will become a C$193 billion industry by 2025, making it one of the world’s fastest growing markets.

ePlay Digital’s share price is trading steady for 4.5 cents per share, as of 1:04pm EDT.
