K9 Gold Corp. (KNC) has reported encouraging results from its recent trenching program at the Stony Lake Project.

At the Deliverance trench in the centre of the property, crews uncovered a 10-metre-wide zone of moderate to intense oxidation, in addition to a major vein system with several parallel minor veins.

Samples taken from the trenched area returned up to 5.5 g/t gold over 4.0 metres along the centre of the vein and 1.9 g/t gold over 0.3 metres across the strike of the main vein.

Jeff Poloni, CEO of K9 Gold, commented,

“The importance of the Deliverance discovery cannot be overstated, with it striking NW it seems to be a splay off a 6 km long NE structure. Similar parallel signatures occur at both Twin Ponds and Moonlight indicating excellent potential for additional discoveries.”

The company also announced that it has applied for approval for an additional 5,000 metres of diamond drilling in the Jumper’s Pond area of the project.

The Stony Lake Project is located within the Cape Ray/Valentine Lake structural trend in central Newfoundland. The property covers over 13,500 hectares of trend between Sokoman’s Moosehead discovery immediately to the northeast and Marathon’s Valentine Lake deposit to the southwest.

Systematic exploration of the property has led to the interpretation of about 100 anomalies, at least ten of which are rated as high-priority drill targets.

K9 Gold Corp. is a mineral exploration and development company that is engaged in the business of identification, acquisition and exploration of mineral interests.
