Manitou (MTU) has uncovered gold mineralization during winter drilling on the Goudreau Project.

Drilling is focused on the Ontario-based project’s Baltimore Deformation Zone.

The company has completed 16 drill holes totalling 4,100 m. It has received assay results for the first six drill holes.

Hole MTU-21-01 shows widespread intersections of brittle/ductile fault-related structures and returned three broad intervals of anomalous gold mineralization: 6 m grading 0.2 g/t gold, 10.3 m grading 0.2 g/t gold and 3 m grading 0.3 g/t gold.

The remaining assays are expected within the next six weeks.

Manitou intends to resume drilling in the latter half of Q2 with many priority targets yet to be explored.

“We are encouraged by the wide sections of brittle/ductile faulting observed in many of the holes completed in the winter drill program,” stated Richard Murphy, CEO of Manitou Gold. “Additionally, the broad zones of strong alteration observed in the program, together with the sections of anomalous gold returned to date, suggest this area of the BDZ is very prospective for hosting an economic mineral deposit.”

Manitou Gold is a Canadian exploration company with 22,500 hectares of prospective gold properties on the Michipicoten Archean Greenstone Belt.

Manitou (MTU) is down by 20 per cent trading at $0.04 per share as of 1:01 pm EST.
