Origen Resources (ORGN) has taken the lithium first-mover advantage in Newfoundland with an established technical team.

Through its association with the Coast Mountain Group, the company has been acquiring ground in Newfoundland with the potential to rival the most renowned lithium belts in the world.

The area contains numerous pegmatite occurrences that exhibit highly-favorable lithium-cesium-tantalum geochemical signatures.

Mapping of geochemical pathfinders has revealed distinct vectors that will allow Origen to focus on prospective areas in a short and economical period of time.

The geochemical pathfinders reveal a distinct corridor that transects Newfoundland and corresponds to the tectonic suture zone hosting the Carolina Tin-Spodumene Belt and the lithium pegmatite occurrences in Ireland that have received significant attention in recent years.

The age of the associated parent granites also coincide with the highly-favorable lithium-rich pegmatites.

The Newfoundland Lithium Belt exhibits all the characteristics of a major lithium-rich corridor, but it has yet to receive much focus due to the appeal of other prospective metals.

Origen focuses on generating, acquiring and advancing base metal, precious metal and lithium properties.

Origen Resources (ORGN) is down by 4.17 per cent and is currently trading at C$0.345 per share as of 12:30 pm ET.
