Quantum Critical Metals (TSXV:LEAP) is reporting a newly identified historical sample of anomalous rare earth elements on its Quest property in Quebec.

This content has been prepared as part of a partnership with Quantum Critical Metals Corp., and is intended for informational purposes only.

A mapping and sampling program by the project’s former owners returned anomalous barium, beryllium, fluorine, gallium, niobium, rubidium, tantalum, thorium, zinc and zirconium.

One of these samples collected within Quantum’s claim boundaries delivered 20 per cent total rare earth elements, which command a multi-billion-dollar tailwind backed by a wide range of roles in modern electronics, defense, aerospace and clean energy. The sample also yielded 226 grams per ton (g/t) of gallium, 78 g/t germanium and 15,060 g/t beryllium.

Once its research bore fruit, the junior miner didn’t miss a beat, adding a claim to Quest’s land package to explore the potential for rare earth elements through further sampling.

According to Friday’s news release, rare earth elements from China, the global production leader, are currently under export restrictions and are subject to a 55 per cent US import tariff announced in June, highlighting a contentious global supply chain in need of new resources in conflict-free nations.

Leadership insights

“Quantum is continuing to unlock its portfolio of critical minerals and rare earth assets to power the next generation of high-tech and defense industries,” Marcy Kiesman, Quantum Critical Metals’ chief executive officer, said in a statement. “Domestic sources of yttrium, beryllium, neodymium and cesium are essential to help fill the growing global supply gap. Quantum continues to elevate its position to meet the growing global demand for critical and rare earth elements by stockpiling a portfolio of first-class assets with exciting historical assays.”
