We get the show on the road with Bonterra Resources (TSXV:BTR), whose new preliminary economic assessment for its Barry project in Quebec, under a joint venture with Gold Fields Limited, estimates 87,097 ounces in average annual gold production over a 7.2-year mine life for initial capital of only C$119 million.

Meanwhile, high oil prices continue to support gold’s safe-haven demand as Yemen’s Houthis, a militia group backed by Iran, carry out strikes on Saudi Arabian infrastructure, with the kingdom striking back in support of Yemen’s internationally recognized government, in the latest escalation of the US/Israel-Iran war.

International producer Centerra Gold (TSX: CG) (NYSE: CGAU) signed an options deal with Azimut Exploration (TSXV: AZM; OTCQX: AZMTF), adding to the Quebec junior miner’s long history of partner-funded development. The strongly mineralized properties will be sampled imminently.
Epic Gold (CSE:EPG) (OTCQB: NFLDF) (FSE: 6341) fostered market sentiment with a 440,000-ounce inferred resource estimate for its Hawkins project in Ontario. The company is already planning a drilling program and metallurgical testing across several high-grade targets with eyes on an updated estimate.
We close with Gold Terra Resource (TSXV:YGT), a miner active in the Northwest Territories, whose visit from Bank of Canada Governor Tiff Macklem turned the spotlight on the province’s untapped mining industry and broader economic potential. The company has optioned property near Yellowknife and south of the historical Con mine, which produced 6.1 million ounces of gold from 1938-2003.
