Welcome to this week’s Stockhouse Gold Report, where we bring you top stories about mining stocks jockeying for a spot on your watchlist.

This article is a journalistic opinion piece which has been written based on independent research. It is intended to inform investors and should not be taken as a recommendation or financial advice.

Taking centre stage we have Artemis Gold (TSXV:ARTG), whose US$427 million acquisition of Vista Gold (TSX:VGZ) complements its producing Blackwater mine in British Columbia with the feasibility-stage, more than 10-million-ounce Mt Todd gold project in Australia. Blackwater is expected to produce 265,000-290,000 ounces of gold in 2026.

By the ounce

At the time of writing on Wednesday, the price of gold was US$4,317.06, according to data from ADVFN, down from US$4,340.97 per ounce in our September 16th report, representing a 16.2% gain year-over-year.

The yellow metal is perhaps a bit baffled by the US Treasury tripling bond buying activity a few weeks ago to lower consumer borrowing costs, while the US Federal Reserve hiked its policy interest rate from 3.75 to 4%, effectively nudging borrowing costs higher in a bid to safeguard against the US-Iran war, higher oil prices and the danger of rising inflation.

Despite this dissonance, Doug Moglia, Macro and Market Strategist at Rockefeller Global Investment Management, told Kitco in a recent report that he sees gold surpassing US$5,500 per ounce in 2027.

Galway Metals (TSXV:GWM) reinforced its path forward with a C$14 million investment from Michael Gentile, one of the world’s most prominent junior mining investors. The company’s 60,465-hectare Clarence Stream gold project in New Brunswick hosts a more than 2.7-million-ounce resource, with mineralization open in all directions, while its 90%-owned Estrades project in Quebec boasts a preliminary economic assessment leadership is confident about improving upon through a recently completed 5,000-metre drilling program.

GoGold Resources (TSX:GGD) proved out its potential for long-term value creation through advancing construction at its Los Ricos South project in Jalisco, Mexico, whose 64-million-ounce silver resource, complemented by more than 600,000 ounces of gold and more than 41 million pounds of copper, is on track for initial production in 2028. The company earned US$10.9 million in net income in Q3 from the production of 268,673 silver ounces, 3,036 gold ounces, 88 tons of copper and 116 tons of zinc.

Our closer this week is Meridian Mining (TSX:MNO), whose definitive feasibility study for its Cabaçal gold, copper and silver deposit in Mato Grosso, Brazil, makes a case for earning US$2.86 billion in free cash flow over a 13.9-year mine life for initial capital expenditures of only US$322 million. Preconstruction, permitting and financing work is well underway.
