The Vancouver Resource Investment Conference (VRIC) is just around the corner, set to take place at the Vancouver Convention Centre from Sunday to Monday (Jan. 19-20). Hosted by Cambridge House, VRIC has been a cornerstone of resource conferences for over 25 years, standing alongside the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) conference in Toronto.

This year, more than 300 junior mining companies will be presenting at VRIC, accompanied by over 70 keynote speakers who will discuss the latest trends and themes impacting the industry. Organizers have stated that every year, more than 5,000 investors from around the world attend the Vancouver Resource Investment Conference. Notable past attendees have included former Prime Minister Stephen Harper and former President of Mexico Felipe Calderon.

“The world is shifting fast. Global conflicts are rattling markets. Supply chains are breaking down. Volatility is rising,” Jay Martin, Cambridge House CEO wrote in a blog post about the show. “But in chaos lies opportunity—if you know where to look.”

VRIC 2025 topics of discussion

This year’s hot topics at the Vancouver Resource Investment Conference are diverse and cater to investors at all levels. With the new year in full swing, investors can attend discussions on how geopolitical relationships are being redefined. The supply chains of critical commodities are under pressure, leading to market volatility and new investment opportunities. What will trading in Canada look like with President Trump in the White House? The mining and hard commodities sectors have been starved of capital for the last decade, resulting in a supply crunch that could drive prices up. And that’s just on day one.

On the second day of VRIC, investors can delve into two hot topics on everyone’s mind – AI and inflation. One thing seems certain: the sentiment for Canada’s resource sector is positive, and that alone is exciting.
