Electronic Arts (NDAQ:EA) officially kicked off the release of EA Sports “College Football 25” worldwide on Friday.

EA Sports’ official return to college football saw 2.2 million unique users play the game during its early access period, with an additional 600,000 playing via the EA Play trial.

The game features all 134 football bowl subdivision universities, plus more than 150 stadiums and, through a name, image and likeness deal from EA Sports, thousands of current college football athletes are available to play in a college football video game for the first time.

Some of the more iconic college football stadiums and traditions have been included in College Football 25, along with several modes, such as Dynasty Mode, where you can coach a team to the championships, as well as the “Road to Glory,” where the player balances student-athlete life on the path to the Heisman trophy, or get competitive online in the college football experience choice in the road to the playoffs and College Football Ultimate Team.

“From the moment we decided to make EA Sports ‘College Football 25,’ the passionate college football fans out there were our team’s north star. This game is for the fans, and the response we’ve seen from across the collegiate landscape, athletes, creators, celebrities and the core community has been nothing short of spectacular,” Daryl Holt, SVP and Group GM, EA Sports, said in a news release. “Every team is someone’s favourite, and ‘College Football 25’ is a testament to the passion and dedication of our developers to build the most authentic college football experience possible for our fans. We couldn’t be more excited to welcome millions more into the game with today’s launch.”

The standard edition of EA Sports “College Football 25” retails for C$89.99 on PlayStation 5, the deluxe edition is C$133.49 and the “MVP edition” sells for C$199.99. It is also available on Xbox Series X|S but requires an Xbox Live Gold subscription to play.
