TSX and Nasdaq rise as Nebius jumps on AI demand. Air Canada cuts guidance, Cerebras falls, oil drops, gold slips and Bitcoin edges higher.

Markets are trading higher as the AI rally continues to broaden and U.S. stocks push back toward record territory. The TSX is up 0.51%, while the TSX Venture Index is higher by 0.96%, supported by strength in growth and risk-sensitive sectors. In the U.S., the Dow is up 0.32% and the Nasdaq is gaining 0.84%, as investors respond to cooling inflation pressures, stronger global AI momentum, and renewed demand for technology infrastructure. London’s FTSE 100 is the outlier, down 0.56%.

Commodities are mixed. Oil is falling sharply, with WTI down 2.26% to $80.00 as inflation worries ease and crude prices pull back. Gold is also lower, down 0.68%, while copper is modestly higher and natural gas is down nearly 2%. Bitcoin is firmer in Canadian-dollar terms, up 0.50%, as risk appetite improves even though crypto remains below recent highs. US futures climb ahead of more inflation data, though major indexes are down for the week reported that U.S. futures rose as inflation data improved, while benchmark crude slipped.
