Here are some highlights:

  • “Bitcoin is increasing at a faster rate than the internet was in the 1990s,” Brunell says.
  • “It doesn’t matter who gets into office, as ‘all roads lead to the money printer,'” she says.
  • Bitcoin is a great way for “goldbugs” to diversify.
  • Using dollar-cost averaging as a strategy for Bitcoin investing

“Bitcoin is the best, the hardest, the soundest asset that you can, purchase. And it’s where my long term savings is.”

— Natalie Brunell

Bitcoin and U.S. election

Brunell believes it doesn’t matter who gets into office, as “all roads lead to the money printer.”

She says, “At this point, it’s just math. We are so indebted. The fiscal side of the monetary spigot has been so loose, they’re going to need to keep printing in order to keep everything liquid and afloat.”

She notes that multiple presidential candidates in this cycle have embraced Bitcoin and overall, Bitcoin is moving in a great direction.

Bitcoin vs. gold

Brunell points out that gold is still a safe-haven asset for a lot of people, and Bitcoin improves upon some qualities of gold, such as scarcity. With gold, she says, “you never really know about the total supply of gold and how that might fluctuate in the future.”

She adds that Bitcoin is a great way for “goldbugs” to diversify.

Brunell also emphasizes the portability and digital benefits of Bitcoin. And In the digital age, “Any one of us can access the ledger, and check how much … we can see the monetary policy in real time, the fact that it cannot change.”

On the portability side, “You can send the Bitcoin literally anywhere across the world for pennies or dollars. The Bitcoin ledger does not discriminate whether you’re sending $1 billion or a couple of dollars. And you can send out the world wide in a permissionless way in lightning speed. So I think that that’s actually incredible.”

Is now a good time to buy Bitcoin?

“I think dollar-cost averaging is the most effective way to build a nest egg for Bitcoin. Make it your your savings account for your family, for your future, for your retirement.”

— Natalie Brunell

Brunell believes that when the price is lower, it is a good time to buy Bitcoin. She sees the “FOMO” when prices go up and everyone jumps in. Dollar-cost averaging is an approach she likes to use: “You don’t look at the price. You just decide whether you want to spend the amount you spend on a coffee every day or every week or every couple of weeks.”

“I think that’s a smart way to just allocate too Bitcoin,” Brunell says. “And the long-term vision I have is I do think that more and more people will see this as the best form of savings that they could invest in for their futures, especially for young people who have felt like they’re a couple of steps behind in the current system that they’ve been disenfranchised or they haven’t had the opportunities of previous generations when it comes to acquiring assets.”

She also points out that if you look at adoption waves, Bitcoin is increasing at a faster rate than the internet was in the 1990s.

“We’re expected to reach possibly a billion people in the next few years on the Bitcoin network,” she says. In 15 years it has grown into a $1.2 trillion or $3 trillion asset class that’s “eating into gold, eating into bonds and equities and real estate.”

On the social side of Bitcoin, Brunell emphasizes its ability to help change lives.

She advocates for the economic empowerment of bitcoin, “No matter where you come from. I think (Bitcoin is) really inspiring and motivating. The idea that you can, you could come from any social class, you can come from total poverty, and if you work hard, if you’re innovative, if you take chances, if you’re a good person, if you really put initiative to work that you can make anything happen.”
