EnviroMetal Technologies Inc. (ETI) has been granted an interlocutory injunction against defendant Mineworx Technologies Inc. (MWX).

The Supreme Court of British Columbia granted the injunction against Mineworx and its related defendants.

The dispute between parties is focused on the use of EnviroMetal’s exclusive process for the extraction of platinum group metals from catalytic converters.

EnviroMetal develops and commercializes environmentally-friendly formulas and technologies for the treating materials in metals industries.

An interlocutory injunction is a court order that prevents a party from doing certain acts pending the final verdict of the case.

Despite what legal experts note is a difficult process, EnviroMetal has succeeded in obtaining an interlocutory injunction.

To obtain an interlocutory injunction the applicant must demonstrate a strong first impression that it will succeed at trial.

EnviroMetal achieved that threshold in its application, with the Court finding that it had a “strong prima facie case for breach of confidence” against the defendants.

Duane Nelson, EnviroMetal’s CEO, stated,

“It should send a strong message to Mineworx as to the merits of our lawsuit… We succeeded because we have formidable evidence necessary to support our claims. I want to thank our legal team at McMillan for securing this victory.”

EnviroMetal began civil action against Mineworx in June 2021, and is seeking general, aggravated, and punitive damages against the defendants.

EnviroMetal also seeks a permanent injunction prohibiting the defendants from using any confidential information or intellectual property owned by EnviroMetal.

The dispute does not involve EnviroMetal’s other technologies used for the extraction of precious metals or E-Waste.

EnviroMetal Technologies Inc. (ETI) is down 3.70 per cent trading at $0.26 per share as of 1:38 p.m. EST.

Mineworx Technologies Inc. (MWX) is unchanged trading at $0.085 per share as of 2:00 p.m. EST.
