Markets were mixed today as U.S. stocks rebounded from a Fed-led selloff while the TSX slipped on broader risk-off flows. The TSX fell 0.26% and the TSX Venture Index dropped 0.54%, while U.S. markets bounced back with the Dow up 0.40% and the Nasdaq surging 1.00% as easing bond pressure and falling oil prices lifted sentiment. The FTSE 100 rose 0.89%, extending gains overseas.

Oil tumbled 10.78% to $91 as the 10-year Treasury yield eased following the Fed’s rate hike, while gold jumped 2.20% and copper gained 2.92%. Bitcoin slipped 0.23% to just above C$106,000. President Trump criticized the Fed’s rate decision, and the U.S. dollar spiked above ¥156 as the Fed and Bank of Japan’s diverging rate paths collided.
