Americas Gold and Silver (TSX: USA; NYSEAM: USAS) reported high-grade silver and copper results from ongoing resource conversion drilling at its Cosalá Complex in Sinaloa, Mexico, achieving some of its best grade-widths from the property to date.
Highlights include 654.7 grams per ton (g/t) silver and 1.5% copper over 20.5 metres (m) and 409.3 g/t silver and 0.8% copper over 14.1 m, with a full set of results available in Thursday’s news release.

Assays stem from infill and step-out drilling during the first half of 2026 at the San Rafael Upper, 120 Upper and 120 Lower deposits, including numerous drillholes from all three zones delivering higher grades than the modelled resource.
Leadership interprets the results as a sign of Cosalá’s substantial untapped upside, given that they were not included in the 2025 resource and reserve estimate – detailing 18.7 million ounces of silver measured and indicated at 119.3 g/t – ramping up enthusiasm amid ongoing development work towards an updated mine plan.
Cosalá produced 337,000 ounces of silver in Q2 2026, up by 26% year-over-year, at cash costs of less than US$17 per ounce, which is almost four times less than the spot price of US$65.77 per ounce at the time of writing.
Leadership commentary
“The Cosalá operation continues to significantly exceed expectations, and I’d like to congratulate the entire team in Mexico for their commitment to mining excellence at all levels of the operation,” Paul Andre Huet, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Americas Gold and Silver, said in a statement. “Resource conversion drilling at the San Rafael Upper and 120 zones is consistently averaging 2-3x the previously reported inferred mineral resource grades. Today’s results are highlighted by hole SR583, which intersected a true thickness of 20.5 m grading 654.7 g/t silver and 1.5% copper. It’s important to note that this intercept is located just 30 m outside of the 2025 inferred resource boundary and is expected to contribute new, high-grade silver ounces to the Cosalá mine plan. On a gram-metre basis, these intercepts are comparable with some of the best silver intercepts drilled anywhere in Mexico over the past year.”
“Overall, the tremendous exploration success being delivered at Cosalá in 2026 is a demonstration of the significant value still to be captured by a robust exploration program,” Huet added. “As a reminder, Cosalá has not received a material exploration budget for many years and we are truly excited at the growth potential of this asset, both in terms of higher grades, as demonstrated today, and potential improvements to the existing mine plan. Over the remainder of 2026 and into 2027, we will continue unlocking value with the drill bit at Cosalá and are looking forward to incorporating these results into our next resource estimate and mine plan in 2027. As the results have demonstrated this year, Cosalá is certainly an exciting and meaningful contributor to our multi-asset growth strategy underway at Americas Gold and Silver.”
